COURSE TITLE Basic Aerodrome control (Refresher)

COURSE AIM
To Provide controllers who are experienced in procedural (Non-Radar) techniques of Area Control with sufficient knowledge and skills in Area Radar Control to enable them to commence On-The-Job training at an operational unit
COURSE CONTENT
Theoretical Material include:
  • VFR Operations in CTRs and different airspace classes,
  • Information to and control of departures: VFR & IFR,
  • Information to and control of arrivals: VFR & IFR,
  • Coordination, Wake turbulence, and Emergency procedures. Situations
COURSE DURATION One Week (2 days classroom + 3 days practical in 3D Visual tower simulator)
Practical training includes:
  • Separating VFR departures,
  • Separating VFR arrivals from each other & from VFR departures,
  • Separating of IFR departures,
  • Separation of IFR arrivals from IFR departures,
  • Handling some abnormal situation.
Who should attend:
Licensed aerodrome controllers or who have taken the basic ATC course.
